About Matsuba Seisakusho

Matsuba Seisakusho has a history of approximately 70 years and is a foundry wooden mold manufacturer located in Fuchu City, Hiroshima Prefecture. Our main expertise lies in the precision processing of wood and manual finishing, creating wooden molds for casting automotive engine parts and maintaining molds. We have managed to overcome the challenges posed by rapidly advancing technologies, including CAD/CAM and 3D printing.

However, in recent times, various circumstances have led to the gradual decline of traditional manual processing, meticulous finishing, and precision machining techniques. Wanting to preserve these skills in a new form, we utilized our expertise to develop and sell wooden iPhone cases and wooden AirPods Pro cases, which are meticulously crafted.

Product Features

• Crafted by a wooden mold manufacturer with a history of about 70 years, renowned for creating wooden molds for demanding automotive engine parts.

• Manufactured using equipment unique to a wooden mold manufacturer, where the aim is to meticulously craft individual pieces to exact dimensions. Although mass production is not possible, we use woodwork-specific NC machines adjusted to a precision of 0.01mm to carefully carve each piece.

• Utilizing premium Walnut, the same high-quality wood used in local furniture manufacturing in Fuchu City, Hiroshima Prefecture, ensuring a luxurious finish for the product.

• Made entirely of solid wood, each piece is precisely processed and assembled.

• All-natural colors; no artificial coloring is applied, only the natural colors of the wood are showcased.

• Finished by hand with care, we take the time to carefully polish and refine the assembled product. Matsuba Seisakusho has accumulated many years of know-how in manual wood processing.

• Finished with oil to meet the safety standards required for high-quality solid wood furniture. Unlike urethane, wood breathes and may expand or contract based on its surrounding environment, which highlights the essence of the wood.

• Safe and secure oil; the oil used, "Libos Altboss," is a transparent penetrating oil suitable for hardwoods, with excellent water repellency. It enhances the vividness of the wood grain with a silky-like gloss. Moreover, it deeply penetrates the wood while maintaining oxygen permeability, allowing the wood to breathe freely. The finish is a moist, matte appearance. The oil has also passed the German standard (DIN EN 71 part 3) for safety, ensuring worry-free use.

• Lastly, we apply beeswax cream produced by "Oyama Seizai" in Toyama Prefecture as a final touch. When applied, it notably improves the feel of the wood, allowing you to enjoy the pleasure of self-maintenance.

Precautions for Use

• This product is exclusively for HHKB series keyboards.

• When using this product as a keyboard roof, it supports the inverted placement of the space key.

• While we have made efforts to minimize warping, please note that due to the nature of wood, it may experience warping or deformation over time and with changes in the environment.

• There is a possibility of damage in the event of a fall or impact.

• Repairs for this product are available for a fee (basic repair cost: 4,400 yen). Please be aware that the shipping cost for repairs, both to and from our facility, is the responsibility of the customer.

• Although we have applied non-slip sheets on the bottom surface, if they come off, please contact us, and we will send you replacements.

• This product does not come with a warranty period. All repairs, except for initial defects, will incur a charge.

• We cannot be held responsible for any damage, loss, malfunction, or other issues with other products caused by the use of this product. Please be aware of this beforehand.
