Public outputs

Three ways into the evidence.

Each output has its own version and purpose. The Force Curve Bench compares measurements, the Parts Builder assembles compatibility evidence, and the preprint documents the method and exploratory perception study.

Inspect individual force curves, compare dome families, view Weight and Tactility percentiles, and keep detected force-wall onset separate from the perception indices.

Beyond Snap Ratio

Preprint 2.0 presents the force-travel method, frozen evidence, completed one-rater pilot, robustness analysis, percentile indices, and limits of the current claims.

Plain-language indices

Fleet position, not a universal score.

The indices are simple percentile coordinates inside the released 68-dome reference fleet. They make relative comparison easier without claiming that one number captures the complete feel of a keyboard.

Weight Index

Collapse force percentile

Where the dome's measured collapse force falls in the released fleet, from the lightest fleet endpoint to the heaviest.

Tactility Index

Force-drop percentile

Where the dome's measured force drop falls in the same fleet, from the least-sharp fleet endpoint to the sharpest.

Important: percentile scales are rankings, not ratio scales. An index of 80 is not “twice” an index of 40. Detected force-wall onset remains a separate measured-assembly proxy and is not part of either index.

How to use the Lab

Start with the question.

Use the Bench to compare measured behavior, the Parts Builder to reason about an assembly, and the paper when you need the full definitions, evidence boundaries, or reproducibility record.

“Which dome feels heavier?”

Begin with Collapse Force and Weight Index. Use Ramp and pre-collapse work to inspect the supporting shape around that peak.

“Which collapse feels sharper?”

Begin with force Drop and Tactility Index. Then inspect steepest 0.10 mm drop, Drop Rate, and Snap % for complementary descriptions of the descent.

“Will these parts work together?”

Use the EC Parts Builder. Treat Verified, Does not work, and Not verified as different evidence states—not as interchangeable recommendations.

“How strong is the perception evidence?”

The current associations are exploratory, single-rater, post-hoc, and in-sample. They do not establish causation, population validity, inter-rater validity, or prediction for unseen users and assemblies.
