Why 205g0 for Topre sliders
Krytox 205g0 is the thickest grade 0 grease widely used in keyboard modding. Grade 0 greases are unique in that they behave like a grease during application but deliver the performance of an oil once spread in a thin, uniform layer — often described as "buttery" in feel.
In Topre keyboards, 205g0 is applied to the inside of the slider rails — the plastic-on-plastic friction surfaces that guide each keystroke. It is the correct viscosity for this surface: thick enough to stay in place and smooth the feel, thin enough not to impede the keystroke when applied correctly.
Application technique is critical. 205g0 requires the thinnest possible coat. If lubricant is visible on the surface, you have used too much. Over-application is the most common mistake with this product and will negatively impact key feel.
Note: 205g0 is not syringe-compatible — it will separate over time. For stabilizer wire clips and metal-on-plastic contacts, use 206g2. For stabilizer slider exteriors and housings, use 3203.

The thermal decomposition vapors of fluorinated polymers may cause polymer fume fever with flu-like symptoms. Wash hands thoroughly before smoking or handling tobacco products.
This lubricant cannot be cleaned with soap and water and is resistant to many solvents. Although chemically stable and non-hazardous under normal use, please wear gloves and place a protective drop cloth below your working surface. Spills are difficult to clean and the lubricant will transfer from hands to any surface touched. Clean up any spills with a microfiber cloth.
